One and Only Creator

The word Allah is a contraction of the Arabic words al- (the) and ilah (deity/god). Al-Ilah --> Allah (The God). It’s a common misconception that the word "Allah" began with the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH); in reality, the term existed long before the revelation of the Qur’an.

In Islam, the word "Allah" is the unique name for the One and Only Creator of the universe. It is a term that signifies pure monotheism—the belief that there is nothing worthy of worship except Him.

"Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him."

— Quran, Chapter 112 (Al-Ikhlas) Play

Allah is not contained within the dimensions of time and space, as these are themselves part of the "creation." This distinction prevents the "humanization" of Allah. By being outside of creation, Allah is not subject to the laws of physics, biological needs (like hunger or sleep), or the decay that affects everything else in the universe.
